In an episode just released by the Shawn Ryan Show, the host told guest Cardinal Raymond Burke about some of his harrowing experiences with the supernatural.
Ryan, a recent revert to Catholicism, shared that in the past month or so, he had two experiences with psychedelics, one which he felt was positive and led to healing; the other, in which he believes he was truly shown hell and unleashed an extremely dark spiritual energy in his life.
Ryan is a military veteran who has struggled with PTSD and addiction. Until recently, he has seemed open to and even supportive of psychedelic-assisted therapy for those who have gone through combat trauma. After his recent harrowing experience which he shared with Cardinal Burke, however, his opinions may have shifted.
In this second, terrifying experience, Ryan shared that when he was shown the hellish landscape, “there was no sense of God or Christ or anything good.”
“Extreme fear and extreme anxiety,” he said, “and I met demonic entities.”

According to Ryan, he has experienced further supernatural activity since, including things like picture frames flying off the walls, smoke detectors going off for hours, and extremely vivid, horrifying nightmares.
Ryan told Cardinal Burke that he has been through four exorcisms with two different priests – but he believes all of this is happening because the devil doesn’t want him to carry on with his recently announced series dedicated to the Bible on his popular YouTube channel.
“The devil absolutely hates anyone who brings the truth to others. And the Bible is all truth,” Cardinal Burke told Ryan.
“It’s very important for you to have courage,” he said to the podcast host.
This interview with Cardinal Burke constitutes the first episode in Ryan’s Bible series, where the two proceeded to discuss the Old Testament.
Less than 24 hours after its premiere, the episode already had almost 1 million views.
