Shawn Ryan Announces New Bible Series for Youtube

Military veteran and Catholic revert Shawn Ryan announced on Monday the launch of a special series focused on the Bible on his popular YouTube channel, the Shawn Ryan Show. He shared that the series will kick-off this week starting with an interview with Cardinal Raymond Burke.

“And what we’re doing is basically a brief overview of the Old Testament followed on Thursday by a brief overview of the New Testament,” Ryan explained, describing the series as “awesome.”

He explained that the Bible series will cover every book in the Catholic Bible as well as the Orthodox version of the Bible.

“It’s going to be people, theologians, scholars from every denomination that come on the show and do their part, their book or two books or whatever it is” and that there may be “repeat appearances” on the show, he shared.

Ryan expects the series to comprise of about 45 videos available on YouTube, with a new episode airing every two weeks.

He will be reading through the Bible at the same time, ready to ask his guests questions about the specific books.

“And I really believe that we can do this in a way that hasn’t been done before,” he said. “One thing you know about my interviewing is I just, I really have no shame when it comes to asking questions.”

“I don’t care if I sound stupid. I don’t care if the question is elementary. If I don’t understand something, I’m going to keep asking until I get it.”

“Whoever does watch, whoever comes with me on this journey, I think we’re all going to get a lot out of it,” Ryan concluded. “I know I will.”

Ryan, who has 6.5 million subscribers on YouTube, recently premiered two several-hour conversations with the exorcist Fr. Chad Ripperger. The two interviews have a combined 7.5 million views. He has also welcomed other Catholic guests on his show, including Fr. Dan Reehill and Fr. Stephen Gadberry.

Ryan recently told Tucker Carlson that he has started attending Catholic Mass after being raised Catholic but falling away from the faith for a time. As Catholics for Catholics reported, “Ryan indicated that he now attends Mass three to four days a week and likes to take his children along with him to breakfast after, and they often ask about the ‘special bread’ that is the Eucharist.”
