In 1971, rock band The Who released their song “Won’t Get Fooled Again”. Given their lyrics “Meet the new boss, same as the old boss”, one would be forgiven if the song came to mind watching the Democratic National Convention. To now, the strategy of the Democrat nominee for President has been to redefine herself. It is easy to know why. Her personality, voice and laugh are shrill and grating. There are more tangible reasons as well. It must be recalled that in her bid for President in 2020, she failed to make it to the first primary before voters realized that Kamala was not an attractive candidate. Consistent with this history, she has been the most undesirable VP in history. Job one is to remake her. She is not speaking to the media, speaks seldom, at all, except from a teleprompter, and has repeatedly personified “cringe” since her arrival into the public square. While she failed to earn one delegate, since her installation as the Democrat nominee, it has been sunshine and rainbows between Harris and the compliant media. She has gone from vacuous to “Vibe”, man. It’s all about the vibe.
And she is moderate, now, too, apparently. Like the transvestites her group lauds, hers is a party pretending to be something they are not. It is obvious that the façade her campaign is trying to erect doesn’t match with reality. Can she pull it off? Perhaps. Aided by her accomplices in the media, neither her convention, nor her website articulates any policy positions. She prudently refuses to do interviews or speak off the cuff. Her interactions at campaign stops come across as scripted and forced. But not as forced as the contortions she is trying to pull off. Consider.
Was she the Border Czar or wasn’t she? She used to be, when it was the Biden/Harris policy to leave the border wide open. Now that Americans have taken umbrage at the plan, they are told that she never was the Czar. Which is it? That is irrelevant as she promises now to fix the border, several millions of illegals later.
She has directly lifted the ideas of Trump and Vance as she has called for no taxes on tips and increased child deductions, just days after her opponents advocated for these ideas. Both of these ideas are incongruent with her party’s record of attacking the nuclear family, which is the modus operandi of the left, not helping blue collar families to make ends meet. She says that she wants to help the economy, yet her three-and-a-half-year record as sitting Vice President speaks for itself:
She is portrayed as the crime fighting prosecutor. Yet, her tenure as Attorney General of California was the beginning of the slide toward the lawlessness which turned the jewel of the American West Coast into an open, infected sewer where every pharmacy has to lock up the razors so as to avoid rampant, unprosecuted pilfering. The only hope of the store proprietor is that these smash and grab perpetrators might slip in the fresh, warm fecal matter littering the streets of Golden State cities. Not to mention that during the year of the mostly peaceful riots, her running mate, Governor Tim Walz of Minnesota refused to call in the National Guard until days after rioters and looters turned Minneapolis into an open hot dog roast. Afterward, California Senator Harris, went online to encourage supporters to bail out the few violators who were actually arrested. Interesting actions for the law-and-order candidate.
Defund the police was a rallying cry for an entire year. Higher crime, a heavier financial burden, push more toward welfare, so that society in general is overwhelmed. This allows the advance, the encroachment, of government, as the citizenry looks for assistance from state and national capitals. Meanwhile, push for equality, equity, social justice, price controls, throw open the border. It is happening. Basically, families and the private sector go bankrupt and the government steps in to save everyone and everything. This is the path to socialism. It is the record of Kamala Harris and the playbook of the left. This is how she has governed, and it is completely inconsistent with the mirage being presented now.
The last fancy that the campaign and media want us to get on board with are “Joy” and her “Vibe”. Seems like a cross between a soda commercial and those bland end of the year “holiday” celebrations. Joy is fine for an advertising campaign. It is hollow for a presidential campaign. Besides, there is no joy on the left. Look how dour their flagbearers are. Joy Reid, Joe Scarborough, Michelle Obama, Dark Brandon, Rachel Maddow. They show themselves every day. The elitist liberal establishment is bitter, resentful, sullen and hateful. Democrats very seldom have good senses of humor. They seldom have senses of humor at all. They are not stupid, though. Their campaign, however, rests on the hope that American voters are.
