“Not a whit, we defy augury. There’s a special providence in the fall of a sparrow.” Augury was the ancient Roman practice of divination. In this quote, Hamlet rejects the notion that the will of the gods or fate can be divined and avoided, and asserts that everything unfolds according to an immutable plan.
How might this apply to the United States circa 2024? Consider.
On April 11, 2020, Joe Biden selected Kamala Harris to run as his Vice-Presidential nominee. The unpopular Harris was chosen over more qualified candidates. This was strictly a DEI selection. Many argue that DEI (diversity, equity, inclusion) is a slander being hurled in the direction of Harris, but Biden, himself, announced prior to her selection that his list of criteria for the first large decision he had to make as nominee was a short one: 1.woman 2. of color. History will show that a more prudent selection here, like a Tulsi Gabbard would have proven prudent.
November 2020, Biden is elected President in what many have called a stolen election. It was contested at the least, and Americans may never know to what extent tomfoolery like fantom ballots, water leaks, Zuckerberg dollars, ballot drop boxes, scarcity of GOP election observers, etc. affected the election.
On September 17, 2022, the former head of security for Pepsi, Kimberly Cheatle was quietly appointed as director of the US Secret Service.
Since the election of Biden, this country has been driven to the brink of bankruptcy, collapse, and socialism. The US is an international joke and President Biden has spent 40% of his term on vacation. Creator endowed and constitutionally guaranteed freedoms of guns, press, speech, religion and assembly have all been curtailed and infringed upon.
Through the course of the Biden presidency, his chief political opponent has been charged with and convicted of crimes with the intent of dumping his popularity. They failed. Each conviction saw Trump’s popularity rise.
During the 2024 election primary season, former President Trump sailed to his party’s nomination despite appearing in zero debates which were taking place amid the convictions and concomitant personal attacks hurled against him by his political foes.
At the same time, there was effectively no primary for the Democrat Party. Fearing that a primary would foist President Biden’s mental incapacity into the spotlight, the powers-that-be inside the Democrat National Committee agreed to fast forward right through the nomination process, foregoing debates, and fighting to avoid primary opponents on ballots. Their allies in the media assisted by refusing any airtime or exposure to his opponents. This would have been the time to allow Democrats the opportunity to scrutinize Biden and begin the process of an orderly removal of him from the ticket, allowing him to retire into obscurity and to select a standard bearer who was best prepared to take on their general election opponent. Instead, this was the time they chose to begin ignoring and alienating Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
The dismissal of RFK Jr. by Democrats culminated on October 9, 2023 when Kennedy, discouraged, left the Democrat party apparatus and declared his run as an independent candidate.

June 24, 2024 – President Biden exposed as incompetent during a debate which should never have happened. Had former President Trump not agreed to odd debate demands, and had the Democrat Party opened up the nomination process to the light of day, Biden would have been at his vacation home in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware instead of embarrassing himself under the harsh lights of an Atlanta, Georgia debate.
July 13, 2024 at 4:11 PM MDT, Trump survives assassination attempt. Though this has been underreported, it did happen. President Biden has the first transgender Cabinet member. And as 66 percent of Biden’s judicial nominees have been women, and 66 percent have been minorities is it really that outrageous to ask if the little noticed Secret Service Director was another DEI hire? Perhaps, perhaps not, but what is known is that either her incompetence or a massive conspiracy almost costs the life of a former president of the United States.
Assassination attempt boosts Trump’s popularity
Embarrassed Joe Biden steps aside, announces that he won’t seek re-election. Instead of a litany of better candidates he endorses his Vice President. July 21, 2024. This is seen as a power move by the outgoing face of the Democrat Party, placing those who overthrew him in a very difficult position. By doing so, DEI Democrats were hoisted by their own petard. Instead of having a competent VP in place already, or instead of choosing somebody that would be a more formidable challenge to Trump they ended up with one of the weakest candidate in presidential history. This goes back to Biden’s selection of Harris four years prior.
On February 16, 2024 and again on July 22, just a month after Biden’s weak debate performance and resignation from the race, Independent Senator Joe Manchin announces that he will not seek the Democrat nomination in competition with Vice President Harris.
Kamala Harris secures enough commitments from delegates to secure her party’s nomination. The candidate who earned precisely zero delegates during her candidacy in 2020, who did not even take part in the 2024 primary, and is perhaps the only possible candidate less competent that the demented Biden, is openly declared the presumptive nominee. August 5, 2024
The next day, August 6, 2024, Harris asks Minnesota Governor Tim Walz to be her running mate instead of battleground Governor Josh Shapiro of Pennsylvania. Conscription of the Jewish Shapiro would have endangered the “river to the sea” voting block of Muslim and Palestine adjacent voters in Michigan.
A day after an interview with Laura Ingraham in which she, legitimately, expressed distaste with the modern Democrat Party, Tulsi Gabbard found herself placed on the domestic “no fly list”. In what must have been a final insult – given her service to her country – Democrat party operatives make another error in judgement. August 13, 2024
Morning of August 23, 2024, Robert F. Kennedy suspends his independent bid for President of the United States. He endorses Trump and asks his phalanx of supporters and on the ground organizers to lend their efforts to former President Trump. This ground game, which worked so well to get RFK onto ballots across the country, may be a crucial tool for the former president as the Republican Party typically has poor get out the vote infrastructure.
Evening of August 23, 2024, Robert F. Kennedy appears on stage with Trump in Arizona, energizing, again, Trumps base. Kennedy’s willingness to assist and campaign for Trump will encourage his independent minded base such as Joe Rogan, Russell Brand and other moderate Democrats to rally behind the anti-establishment Trump.
August 26, 2024, Tulsi Gabbard endorses President Trump at a National Guard event, during which Biden’s poor handling of the Afghanistan withdrawal is the centerpiece of the evening. Gabbard focuses, specifically, on the need for Trump to defeat pro-war neocons in the establishment.
August. 26, and August 27, 2024 Jill Stein, the presidential candidate for the Green Party, is allowed to remain on the ballot in Wisconsin, the state’s Supreme Court said, after the court declared a Democratic technical challenge to her ballot access moot. And Cornel West, a philosopher, academic, and political activist is allowed to remain on the Virgina ballot, another battleground state with a large black population. He continues to fight and gain access to ballots in states across the country.
There were times over that past year when Biden and his Democrats looked like Wile E. Coyote. Nothing they threw at the former President would stick, including and especially his prosecutions and convictions. Given their failures and some of the choices which have brought us to this point, there are some who might point at this and credit divine intervention. But who knows? We, too, will avoid augury. Ms. Harris is not the strongest candidate, but with all she has in her favor, this election will be close either way. The opportunity for a Trump victory exists, and just maybe, given all these lucky coincidences, if Trump still can’t pull this off, its him. Trump being Trump, he may blow it. If he finishes smart, cautious and disciplined he has a chance. But he has just as much chance as screwing it all up.
