They came. They saw. They conquered.

Thousands of folks braved the cold winter temperatures and an impending coming arctic storm headed their way, as they attended the yearly March for Life, the landmark pro-life event that featured keynote speakers like Vice President JD Vance.

Attendees not only showed their commitment to life and the pro-life cause but were pumped-up by speakers like Vance and others who emboldened them to keep fighting for the unborn. Vance told them to “take heart into how far you have come,” while leaders like Catholics for Catholics President and CEO John C. Yep, told Newsmax that he was elated to see people who were at the original March for Life in 1974, but also young people who showed up to take up the torch of the movement to defend children.

“It’s a big moment. It never gets old. You know, I’m here in Washington, DC and the streets below behind me, you have the young people once again in the march to defend life,” Yep said. “It’s something that just never gets old. Congress needs to see this zeal, to see these young people who defend life. The fight for life, it really continues. Maybe even more so now.”

A Newsmax television host asked Yep about what role did men play as fathers and defenders of the unborn? The Catholics for Catholics President replied that since they helped create the child, they have a paternal right before God to defend that life.

“Men have been involved very much in this pro-life movement. You know, ‘it’s my body, my choice,’ in the sense that is the body of the child who has a choice to remain a life and have a chance to see the light of day,” Yep said. “We’re standing for that. And it’s important and we can’t be complacent. Now that Roe has been overturned.”

Yep added that a significant part for people today is to “normalize” the family life and culture, because it is the basis of everything. By attending events like March for Life and defending life, folks are making sure that the family will make a comeback in popular culture.

“It’s making normal because it is normal. It’s at the basis of cultures, the family right,” Yep said. “I think it’s the defense of life as the Holy Father said, Pope Leo, who actually issued a special statement today encouraging all the pro lifers. He reminded us again that life is precious at all stages and needs to be defended. I think it’s great to see that they are here for the Mach for life.”

Kristan Hawkins, the President of Students for Life said that the attendance at the March for life proved one thing: young people are back. She added that today’s youth are showing that they are far removed from being the slacker stereotype some accuse them of, and instead are demonstrating a willingness to fight for life with a new zeal.

“You know, I think when you think about this generation, a lot has been said about how young people are lazy and that they’d rather be home in their pajamas. That is not the case right now,” Hawkins said. “This crowd is young, this crowd is energetic, and their ready to get to work and to achieve what the March for Life set out to do in 1973 and 1974, and that’s to end the violence of abortion.”
